About Jennifer:
Jennifer Purdie
Jennifer Purdie is a journalist with a background in magazine editing and writing. She
has worked for a national consumer magazine in which she wrote a monthly column, managed
freelance artists and writers from throughout the country, and represented the
publication at industry events throughout the U.S.
She has also written and edited for a regional luxury lifestyle publication where she interviewed everyone
from fashion designer Marc Jacobs to ambassadors, and wrote articles and columns about community affairs,
beauty, travel, and fashion.
Jennifer has managed content for an online health and fitness publication and served in the position
of medical health writer. She started an athletic magazine in Tempe, Arizona, The Competitor,
geared toward student-athletes and coaches. Jennifer is also a running columnist for examiner.com.
Some of the publications she has written for include Running Times Magazine, Phoenix Magazine, Creating Keepsakes Magazine, Scottsdale
Magazine, the Arizona Republic, www.internationalcircuit.com, industry publications, and
consumer magazines throughout the country. She has also been featured on Fox Sports News and
in Scottsdale Health Magazine and Fitness Business News among other publications sharing her love of running.
She has a huge passion for health and wellness and strives to promote her love of a healthy lifestyle
with others from writing simple how-to articles to being interviewed by the media.
In her personal life, she is an active marathoner, triathlete, and endurance sport athlete, participating
in events all over the world. She has run a marathon on all seven continents. She loves international travel and has been to over 30 countries, as well
as has competed in ballroom and salsa dancing competitions.
Jennifer pays it forward by providing pro bono marketing and writing services for non-profits raising
funds through 5K events. She supports the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation,
among other worthwhile charities.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Washington, a Master's degree
in education from the University of Phoenix, and a scholarly publishing certification from Arizona
State University, as well as a personal training certification from NASM. She also speaks Spanish,
having studied abroad in Spain.
Jennifer is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.
